Principal's Letter

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:

The administration and staff welcome each of you to Sayler Park School for the 2009-2010 school year. Sayler Park School has been an integral part of the community since 1883. We have been in this building since 1929. It is your school. We will begin our 80th year with pre-school and kindergarten through eighth grades. Our school mascot is the jaguar. Our school colors are gold and black. Our motto is "Don't just wish upon a star, be one."

Our school vision: The Sayler Park School Community believes that all children should be educated in an inclusive environment that promotes the academic growth of all children to their maximum potential.

The Mission of Sayler Park School is to educate all students to meet or exceed the District’s defined academic standards.

"We, the staff and parents, believe that every child can learn, given the time and appropriate methods and materials. It is our responsibility to promote the successful growth of each child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We must help each child develop self-esteem and respect for others, so that they may become conscientious and competent citizens."

Monthly newsletters, flyers and menus will be sent home on Thursdays. They will keep you informed of our school functions and activities. This year we are pleased to have added the CincyAfterSchool program for our students in grades K - 8. You can find out more about this program from the Quick Links section at the bottom of the Home Page.

Towards the end of the school year we will be moving to newly constructed mobile units while our building is renovated and the new additions are built. We expect to return to a certified "green" building for the 2012-2013 school year.

It is our sincere hope that this school year will be most enjoyable and academically successful for all of our students. Our journey begins with a single step that leads to a world of possibilities.

Sincerely,

Gary J. Vale

Principal
